International Baccalaureate Program Information

Are you aware The Wichita Public Schools has a college preparatory magnet program for high school students, located at East High, called the International Baccalaureate Program, or also known as IB. If your 8th grade student currently has a relatively high grade point average, seeks challenging academic opportunities rather than avoiding them and has shown a temperament to persevere through difficult situations, then the IB Program might be worth considering as an option for their high school career. This year, eight separate evening informational sessions are being scheduled throughout the city during November and December. These meetings are intended to provide 8th grade students and their parents an opportunity to learn about the program and to hear some testimonials from current IB students and their parents. These events are being scheduled in the evenings, throughout the Wichita area, beginning in November (reference following list for locations and dates). Each event will begin at 6pm and conclude around 7:15. Applications will be distributed at these events and will also be available at area middle schools. Spanish translators will be available at the Horace Mann and Jardine hosted events.
