About Robinson

Robinson Middle School strives to provide a rigorous education for all of its students.

Robinson has a rich tradition here in Wichita, as many of our students are the children and grandchildren of former students. School staff and community members emphasize the arts and expect strong academic performance.

Robinson also has the Pre-IB program, which is a rigorous, student centered academic curriculum. It is designed for self-motivated students in 6th through 8th grade who like additional challenges. Written application, math and writing tests, and teacher recommendations are required for this application process, which begins in January. Robinson Middle School received the Kansas State Challenge Award for outstanding achievement and accomplishment with factors of size, ethnicity, and socio-economic status. The Kansas Department of Education recognized Robinson for its performance on the 7th grade math and 8th grade reading Kansas State Assessments.

Programs:
Robinson Middle School houses a challenging academic magnet program (Pre-International Baccalaureate or PIB) within a comprehensive middle school for the self-motivated students in grades six, seven and eight. Robinson also houses two classes for the Trainable Mentally Retarded (TMR) program, an Interrelated Special Education program (IR) as well as a Gifted (G) program.
