Band

6^th grade beginning band is taught this year by Patti Sweet and Mark Jones.  These students will be using “Essential Elements 2000”, book 1.  We are hoping to have everyone start playing by Wednesday, September 5.

7^th grade band is taught by Patti Sweet, assisted by Janel Koonce.  These students are using “Essential Elements 2000” book 2 and “Foundations for a Superior Performance.”

8^th grade band is taught by Patti Sweet, assisted by Mark Jones.  This band will be using “Essential Technique 2000” and “Foundations for a Superior Performance.”

2007-2008 Dates

Sept. 5             Beginning Band start playing!

Sept. 21           8^th grade band perform at East High game (at Heights)

Nov. 15           All band fall concert (Robinson Auditorium)

Feb. 4              All City Band Concert (selected students)

March 6           Solo/Ensemble recital night (selected students)

March 8           Solo/Ensemble festival (selected students)

April 11            Middle School Band Festival (8^th grade band)

May 12            All band spring concert (Robinson auditorium)
